Lavender Fields
There is nothing wrong with what I’ve been given.
There is nothing wrong with any of them.
I am fed three courses and more if I want some.
An entourage of people dress me for each occasion.
But even with all that…
I want to go back to the lavender fields
and drink in the warmth of the sun,
see your face every day.
I want to go back home.
You would be impressed with the carriage I ride in.
Everywhere I go a red carpet rolls out.
Applauses are my music and bows are expected.
They say in a thousand years I am the best one, the best one.
But even with all that…
I want to go back to the lavender fields
and drink in the warmth of the sun,
see your face every day.
I want to go back home.
Maybe I’ll just send for you.
Maybe I’ll just send for you.
Maybe I’ll just send for you.
Maybe I’ll just send for you.
‘Cause letters aren’t enough.
Letters aren’t enough.
Letters aren’t enough.
Letters aren’t enough!
And I want to go back to the lavender fields
and drink in the warmth of the sun,
see your face every day.
I want to go back.
I want to go back to the lavender fields
and drink in the warmth of the sun,
see your face every day.
I want to go back home.
