do you know who He is?

As I write this section of the website, I will be honest and tell you that I’ve attempted many times to write something worthy of a complete description of who Jesus really is. What I have found is 2 things…

1. If I wrote all that I know about Jesus from personal experience, it could take a lifetime. For as you know, relationships consist of a whole lot more than a mere paper could do justice for.

2. I fear that you will take only what I say to form your thought on who Jesus really is, and that makes me nervous because He is incredible and I dare not misrepresent Him. There’s enough of that floating around.

So what I’ve decided to do is write some of the experiences and even words that describe who I know Jesus to be. I’ve also asked a few of my friends, who seem to know Him well, to do the same.

I’m going to Mexico in a few days and my goal is to have something to post upon my arrival home.

Until then, may you seek to know Him more. If you’re anxious to know a bit, pick up a bible. I guess it’s still listed the top seller of books in the world - must be many floating around. I’d recommend reading the book of John. (Not 1st, 2nd and 3rd - rather, the gospel of John.)

Alright, I’m going to pack and then to my beautiful bed.

Much love,

Katie

This is who Dave  Wager says He is:

He is the breath that makes my body of clay become a living soul. He alone is the creator and sustainer of all. He is older than me, smarter than me and loves me; I can trust Him. He always was, I at one time wasn’t. He is God, I am Dave.

My friend Ian Leitch says this:

Jesus claimed to be the Son of God!

In John 4:25-26 the woman at the well said to Jesus “I know that Messiah (Called Christ) is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus replied “I who speak to you am he.” At his trial the High Priest said to Jesus “I charge you under oath by the living God: tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God” Jesus answered, “Yes, it is as you say.” Matthew 26:63-64

A claim, however, demands evidence and Jesus gave three evidences.

The first evidence is fulfilled prophecy.

In the Old Testament there are over three hundred prophecies covering sixty major concerning the coming Messiah. In the New Testament Jesus said, “Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Luke 24:44 and “Beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the scriptures concerning him.” Matthew 24:27 For example Micah 5:2 predicts the Messiah will be born in Bethlehem and Matthew 2 records the fulfilment 700 years later! Zechariah 9:9 predicts the entry of the Messiah on a donkey into Jerusalem and John 12 records its fulfilment 500 years later. Psalm 22:16 predicts the Messiah’s death by crucifixion and Luke 23 records it fulfilment 1,000 years later! Jesus fulfilled the prophecies authenticating his claim that he is the Son of God.

The second evidence is Jesus Miracles

Jesus said “The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me." John 10:22 John writes "Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you many believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." John 20:30-31 Jesus performed miracles authenticating his claim that he is the Son of God!

The third evidence is the Resurrection

The tomb was empty and no one denied it! Because it was empty the authorities had to find an excuse for its emptiness! The guards said while they were asleep the disciples stole the body. Matthew 28:11-15 That does not stand up. It is untenable legally as the witnesses were asleep. It is untenable psychologically and ethically as it caused the disciples own suffering and death. The tomb was empty because he rose from the dead! This is backed up by his personal appearances; eleven over a period of forty days to crowds of over 500 at one time which changed the disciples from fear to boldness; suffering stoning, beatings, lashings, starvations and martyrdom. They were willing to die for what they had seen, heard, and written down. “He is declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead.” Romans 1:4 Jesus rose from the dead authenticating his claim that he is the Son of God!

Jesus is the Son of God!

Jesus is Lord!
