1. Last week I began recording again in Fort Wayne Indiana. It really is an incredible time! If you are ever in the area when I’m recording, you’ll have to stop by and experience some of the fun. I’m recording at “The Recording House” in Grabill, IN, where Lynn Graber is the sound engineer. My friend Scott Troyer will be producing this album. You can check out information on either of them on their myspace accounts or check out my links page. They are fabulous musicians and a delight to work with. Those of you who know me well know that at times my brain functions at a slower level when it comes to jokes – Lets just say it was working overtime and I’m still recovering?
2. The weather has been beautiful. I’ve been lovin it!
3. Last night a bunch of friends came over and we jammed with our guitars and shakers and such. It was lots of fun. I think at one point we had 7 guitars going at once. It was kind of humorous. We were singing the song “ In Christ Alone” and the line “the wrath of God was satisfied” stood out to me. Today on this Good Friday I’m reminded again of God’s amazing love. TO think that by nature, by birth, I was an object of God’s wrath, but because of Christ Jesus, I am now an object of God’s love.
~And you were dead in the trespasses and sins,
In which you once walked,
Following the course of this world,
Following the prince of the power of the air,
The spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience-
Among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh,
Carrying out the desires of the body and the mind,
And were by nature, children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
But God being rich in mercy,
Because of the great love which He loved us,
Even when we were dead in our trespasses,
Made us alive together with Christ-
By grace you have been saved!~
In Christ alone Who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
